The best VPNs, ranked by the numbers.

Every provider is scored with the same published formula: audited privacy, measured speed loss, security features and what you actually pay, including the renewal price the deal page leaves out. No provider can buy a better score.

We earn a commission if you buy through our links. It never changes a score: rankings are computed from the data. How we make money

Ranked for a job

Best VPN for what you do

A VPN for torrenting needs different strengths than one for a Fire Stick. Each list re-weights the same data and drops providers that can’t do the job.

Matcher

Not sure which list you’re on?

Tell us how you’ll use it. The matcher combines the matching lists and shows the provider that fits all of them.

Your match

Three questions. No email. Same math as our rankings.

Your answers re-weight the six scoring criteria and filter out providers that can’t do the job, for example no TV app or no P2P servers.
